Volume 11: The Trumpet Chronicles is Now the Saxophone Chronicles

Since this website used to reside at a different address, until the idiots who run my web hosting somehow didn’t notify me of a domain name renewal, I doubt many of you (well, the one or two who’ve visited so far) are familiar with the Trumpet Chronicles.  This was a series of articles I wrote as I wandered my way through the intricacies of trumpet selection and mouthpiece searching.

Volume 9A – The Trumpet Chronicles

mendez1I started to just update Volume 9 after last night’s practice, but figured I would “thrill” the couple of you who actually read these chronicles with a new entry.

Volume 3 – The Trumpet Chronicles

mendez1Since buying a couple of Ambassadors, I have become intrigued by the Olds trumpets; their history, the different models, and what the differences are between them. Continue reading “Volume 3 – The Trumpet Chronicles”

Volume 2 – The Trumpet Chronicles

yam-11I ordered and received a Yamaha 11 Japan mouthpiece this week.  Depending on who you read online, it’s either like a Shilke 11 (R. Shilke consulted for Yamaha in the 60s) or a Bach 7C.  One site even said it was somewhere between a Bach 3C and 5C.

I don’t know.  I’m a woodwind guy, remember? Continue reading “Volume 2 – The Trumpet Chronicles”
